Goodra - The Dragon Pokemon

 

Today's Pokémon is a very special one because this is my favorite Pokémon. Actually, that's a little bit of a lie because my favorite Pokémon is the pre-evolution but that is beside the point. With a base stat of over 600, this gooey dragon specializes in it's defense and ability to hit pretty strong, with the only downside being its speed. With the right moves, this Pokémon can be used to easily fill any offensive hole in a team. Now that I admit it is not the best Pokémon to use, but if paired up with the right team can be a great choice.

I love the design, it's simple with a nice pale color scheme. Although I do admit it does not look like a dragon and is more like a snail it is just has powerful as one. Covered in slime and for being my favorite it's only right to give it an unbiased 10/10!!

Slowbro - The Hermit Crab Pokemon

 

Today's Pokémon is Slowbro! Slowbro is a pretty silly guy, mainly used as a defensive pivot in battles because of its extremely high defense and with a mega evolution (an evolution only accessible to certain pokemon) making it even more bulky with moves that can make the opponent poisoned and fall asleep Slowbro is really just there to be a passive problem. Pairing it up with the right items and partner Pokémon Slowbro could last in battles for a while, but with an unfortunate typing being water/psychic it has a lot of weaknesses that its bulk can not take. 

The design is pretty iconic and silly having a blank expressionless face and a giant shell biting on its tail. In its mega evolution, the shell eats him whole, and it is used as a defensive casing. Other than that he just looks like a friend! 7/10

Incineroar - The Heel Pokemon

    Hello everyone, firstly I want to say that this Pokémon is amazing. Incineroar is today's Pokémon, and this is one of the most useful Pokémon to use in competitive and casual play. This is not just my opinion, ever since 2016 Incineroar has been one of the most used Pokémon in tournaments and is now one of the first Pokémon people put on their teams when making one. Amazing supportive moves such as fake out causing opponents to skip a turn, parting shot which lowers the stats of the target, knock off which removes a Pokémon held item, and snarl which can lower the attack of 2 Pokémon. Paired up with a ton of good offensive moves like flamethrower, earthquake, U-turn, drain punch, toxic, and so much more. This Pokémon can also have the ability Intimidate which can lower your opponents' attack by simply just being on the field. As more games come out it just keeps getting stronger!

   Now let's talk about its design. If you cannot tell it is modeled after a wrestler with a belt of fire around its waist. With a thick mane, muscular build, sharp claws, and a beautiful red and black color scheme it is a pretty solid design. Needless to say, I really enjoy this Pokémon and there are countless more things I can say about it. 9/10

Jumpluff - The Cottonweed Pokemon

Today's Pokémon is Jumpluff! Admittedly, I did not know a lot about this Pokémon, but after doing a little research, I can see how it can be useful as support for 2v2 battles. Most of its stats are put into speed and have a lot of supporting moves like, tailwind to make it faster, strength sap to lower the opponent's attack stat, sleep powder that can put others to sleep, and memento which also lowers attack. Still, there are so many other Pokémon that can do those moves and support that are better overall than Jumpluff. Design-wise, however, I think it is pretty creative. Having a round blue body with dandelion-like arms it uses to fly. The shiny also makes it gives it a pretty pink color, but maybe a little too much pink in my opinion. 4/10

Rookidee - The Tiny Bird Pokemon

 

Hi! Today's entree is about Rookidee. I don't really know what to say about this one because, in the games, it's a Pokémon you get really early in the game and forget about after it evolves. Before Rookiee evolves at level 18 it learns pretty good early-game moves like pluck and hone claw, but then it evolves after that. There are a lot of notable things about the design, however, being based on a raven it has a black and blue color scheme, red eyes, and a cute little round shape making it look both cute and aggressive. Like I said before not a lot of notable things about this bird, but it does evolve into a powerful Pokémon! 5/10

Bruxish - The Gnash Teeth Pokemon

 

    Hello again!! Unfortunately, today's Pokémon to rate is Bruxish. As you can assume, I do not like this fish in the slightest. Looking over the Pokémon's move pool and potential abilities it does not seem horrible to use in battle. Having moves such as wave crash, crunch, aqua jet, and aqua tail. Abilities such as strong jaw which increases some of the power of its move (bulbapedia) and has a base stat of 475, with most of it being in its speed and attack. Overall, a pretty decent Pokémon in concern of usability. 

With all of the good things about Bruxish aside, my biggest gripe is that it is ugly. It has a color palette that is such an eye-sore, and it looks like it has a door stopper on its head. The shiny version (a rare version of a Pokémon that changes its color pallet) just makes look even worse. In general, it is just a creature I do not like and would not want to see.   3/10

Magearna - The Artificial Pokeomn

    Hello everyone!! The first Pokémon that I want to rate is Magearna. The first thing I want to say is that I love this Pokémon. Created by scientists as a gift for royalty, it is designed after a maid that can connect its consciousness with other's feelings (bulbapedia). The gear on its head resembles a hand band and its ballgown is my favorite part of its design. With a great typing like steel/fairy and a pretty strong move pool with moves like aura sphere, aurora beam, and helping hand and a base power of 600. It can be used as a pretty viable Pokemon in combat. Even in the card game, Magearna's card art is stunning and truly magnifies everything about it. For the amount of creativity and power in this Pokemon I give it a 9/10.
